Off Grid '17

Off Grid 17 was an experiential journey, a design ‘un-conference’, that converged in Wellington. Celeste, Sasja and I were invited to run a workshop exploring design thinking at Te Papa. In response, we organised and facilitated 'People and Space', to coach teams through a design thinking process as they collaborated to solve a real, museum-based challenge – using Te Papa as their playground.

Teams were given an open brief asking them to develop an idea that improved visitors’ experience in one of three galleries in the museum. Throughout the workshop, they conducted user research on the floor, turned new insights into ‘How Might We’ questions to kick start ideation, created storyboards, and prototyped their ideas.

Leading up to the workshop, we used our graphic design backgrounds to create collateral for the session, including a notebook with all the tools used, and additional methods for people to take into their own practice.
